HFHS and the Archive Centre

The Highland Archive Centre is run by Highlife Highland who are responsible for its opening hours and staffing arrangements.
The Centre is located by Bught Park in the south western outskirts of the city.

It's about a 20 minute walk from the city centre (cross the bridge at the bottom
of the High Street
- below the castle - turn left, and walk beside the river until you reach the
Archive Centre).
There is a limited seasonal service (three or four buses a day in the summer)
from the bus station.
Click
this line for the summer 2013 timetable (No. 19A to the Aquadome which is
adjacent to the Centre).
HFHS volunteers
are usually on duty at our desk in the Genealogy Room on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10am-1pm.
If you wish to make an appointment to meet someone from the society to help you
with your research outwith those hours
please ring the Genealogy Room on the following number and the staff there will
put you in touch with one of
the HFHS officers to make a mutually convenient appointment: 01463-256444.
Alternatively, please email
the society in advance of your arrival in Inverness.
